Meet Jean-Carlos. He took his affection for gameshows and turned it into a major in Operations Research and Financial Engineering. That gave him the winning ticket to start his career as a Business Analyst.
Question: What's been your career path while at Prudential?
Answer: I started in Product Solutions as a business analyst in Individual Life Insurance. After taking a few actuarial exams to broaden my skill set, I was offered a role in the Chief Investment Office (CIO). I currently work as an investment analyst supporting portfolio management for our emerging market life insurance businesses, focusing on Latin America.
Question: What excites you most about Prudential?
Answer: Just how many opportunities there are to build a long-lasting career here! There are plenty of people who spend their entire careers at Prudential. They're able to accumulate various experiences because of their openness toward internal mobility. There are many different parts of the business that are here to explore.
Question: What are you passionate about as it relates to your work?
Answer: The international nature of my work excites me. I’ve learned a lot over the past couple of years about various Latin American economies. Working in International is also remarkably collaborative, as I get to partner closely not just with others in CIO but also with all of our local investment teams day-to-day.
Question: Any advice you may have for entry-level talent?
Answer: Don't be afraid to ask questions. No one expects you to know everything when you start a job, and if you're stuck on something, you should feel comfortable asking a colleague or your manager for help — that's what teams are for!
