About the position

It’s an exciting time at Prudential and our Group Insurance unit has an excellent Director-level opportunity in our Financial Operations area. In this role, the individual will lead a team of talented individuals, collaborate with others, enhance and transform the way we operate, while meeting and exceeding our financial service commitments. We are seeking a results-oriented leader, an accountable and highly dependable individual, possessing innovative thinking, with strong financial acumen.

As the Director, Financial Operations, you will be accountable for the planning, leadership and day-to-day operational oversight for Financial Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for driving tangible outcomes across multiple financial functions such as Financial Reporting & Controls, Billing Operations, & Compensation Management, and direct responsibility for the execution of financial close activities.


  • Overall leadership and oversight of the Financial Operations organization, includes leading and developing a team of approx. 60+ staff, including (2) direct reports.
  • Champion and lead projects, efforts, and initiatives that impact and influence our financial service and reporting commitments
  • Accountable for overseeing billing, premium collection, compensation processing, financial monitoring & close activities for $4.7B+ financial services organization
  • Define, develop, and enhance financial metrics and reporting
  • Partner with internal and external parties regarding financial policy, procedure, audit, and control related efforts


  • Strong Leadership and Talent Management approach Demonstrated experience building a diverse, inclusive environment

  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, strategic thinking abilities

  • Strong understanding of financial services operations

  • Minimum 10 years of Insurance or Financial Services or equivalent experience

  • Proven results orientation, excellent relationship building skills, and ability to work cross-functionally to achieve goals

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • CPA or CFA designation preferred

  • Series 99 Designation Required or attained within 180 days of hiring
