Asset Management - Newark (NJ), NJ PGIM Fixed Income - Vice President, Derivative Operations
About the position
The Vice President of Derivatives Operations within Fixed Income Global Trade Services will manage a team of twenty-five across derivatives processing, trade life cycle management, collateralization, and reporting for portfolios managed by PGIM Fixed Income. The Vice President will ensure that derivatives operations priorities are aligned to business goals and will work with peers in other organizations, as well as trade/industry associates, to implement best practices. This position serves as the primary interface for derivatives clearing, and vendor relationships, pertaining to the trade settlement and collateralization practices.
Anticipate issues that may cause errors, or adversely affect the ability to meet deadlines, and act to prevent the risk of occurrences
Maintain a well-controlled support environment with process consistency
Motivate staff through effective management practices, coaching and mentoring
Create business objectives that align to broader PGIM Fixed Income strategies
Accountable for the successful contributions and effectiveness of department
Lead with a global perspective; may manage global team
Collaborate and Influence across the organization – think broadly and take other groups into consideration
Maintain competitive industry knowledge and client focus, with the ability to articulate this to most senior professionals
Negotiate with senior management, clients/customers, regulators, and vendors to influence decisions

Degree in Economics, Finance or Business preferred
12-15 years of asset management experience supporting fixed income derivative products
Advanced understanding of derivative products (fixed income and equities), and the depositories they are settled through
Direct management of 10, or more, people
Strong analytical, interpersonal, management, and project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong ability to build relationships with internal and external business partners
Experience managing complex business relationships, leading meetings, and identifying appropriate escalation points
