About the position

PGIM Private Capital (“PPC”) is the private capital investment arm of Prudential and one of the largest private debt investors in the world with nearly $97.5 billion in AUM across more than 1,000 companies globally (as of 9/30/20). PPC typically invests $10-13 billion annually in privately placed senior and mezzanine financings with middle-market companies.

PGIM Private Capital is seeking an Investment Analyst to join their Chicago Corporate Finance Office.

The Investment Analyst role is a three-year assignment that offers candidates the chance to build their analytical skills, expand their knowledge of private capital investments, and broaden their knowledge of capital markets. In this role, the Analyst supports PGIM Private Capital in managing and investing private placement senior, mezzanine and equity investments in companies around the globe. PGIM Private Capital’s clients range from large multi-national public companies to smaller privately held companies across broad industry classifications.

Working on a small dedicated team, Analyst responsibilities include industry analysis, financial modeling, comparable analysis, preparing discussion materials, portfolio monitoring, marketing support, and special projects. The Analyst role includes direct interaction with senior management.

Candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong record of academic achievement

Excellent analytical and accounting skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.

Strong understanding of capital markets, including debt and equity security terms as well as valuation methodologies

Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills

Business related experience preferred, but not required

Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program
