What’s been your career path at Prudential?
I began as an intern during the summer going into my junior year within the Global Technology Internal Audit group. I returned to the same group within Prudential the next summer. I was then hired full-time into Internal Audit as a Staff Level I Auditor and have recently been promoted to Staff Level II.
How do you describe your role?
I help protect Prudential by evaluating the cyber security risks through the use of technologies and processes. We provide reasonable assurance that the protection mechanisms (e.g. controls) are working as intended.
What are some key projects that have excited you the most?
I have worked on a number of exciting projects during my career with audit such as; Cyber Security, Network Consolidation, Web Authentication, Data Loss Prevention and Data Center Migration. These were all directly relevant to what I studied in college, so it was awesome to see the knowledge carry over into practical and real work applicability.
I have also been lucky enough to work with the Summer Internship Experience in offering my past experiences to assist in talent development.
What are you passionate about as it relates to your work?
I am passionate about improving Prudential’s technology security, which translates over to keeping customer information safe.
What excites you most about Prudential?
The culture and the purpose. First, nothing beats our culture and there is a reason why many people stay here for many years! Second, Prudential’s purpose of financial wellness carries over to overall well-being.
What keeps you at Prudential?
Prudential’s culture, the individuals I work with and the respect the company has given me. It directly transfers over to the loyalty I feel for Prudential.
How would you describe Prudential culture in one word?
What's one thing you love about working in Newark?
The food options for sure, there are tons of places to choose from and all within walking distance. I love going out with my team members every day. Sometimes we take an extended lunch in the Ironbound area.
