Newark has been the site of Prudential's headquarters since the company's birth in 1875. Today, most of the firm's business units are well represented here, as are many of the firm's corporate citizenship initiatives. From the civic leadership of the company's founder, John Fairfield Dryden, to the current engagement of hundreds of company employees with local nonprofits, Prudential has consistently strived to make a difference in the lives of the citizens of Newark and its neighboring cities.

Activities in Newark are spread out among three offices downtown, connected by underground tunnels and shuttle bus service. Amenities here include free parking, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, in-house cafeterias, health and wellness centers, and safe shuttle bus service to parking and public transportation. Newark—a mere 20 minutes from New York City—is easily accessible via commuter rail, PATH train, or car and enjoys close proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport.

Newark is a richly diverse and civic-minded community that offers a wide range of dining, cultural, and educational opportunities. From world-class soccer, NBA basketball, and ice hockey games, to symphony orchestras, musical theater, poetry jams, jazz, and hip-hop, there's always something happening in this city. And Newark is home to several leading universities, including Rutgers University-Newark, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
