Prudential's Individual Life Insurance business creates and distributes individual life insurance policies, including variable, term, universal, and survivorship products. This division carries forth the proud legacy of Prudential's flagship insurance business—one that began humbly in the basement office of company founder John Fairfield Dryden in 1875.

Jacksonville has been an important location for Prudential since 1955, when it first opened as Prudential’s South Central Home Office. Historically, our regional locations were developed to delegate authority to local decision-makers who knew the area best. Strong relationships with our customers and partners continue to be fundamental to a winning strategy today.

Prudential currently occupies an elegant 19-story glass building on the St. John’s River, within easy commuting distance from the surrounding metro area. On-site amenities include a full-service cafeteria, medical services, and a fitness center. And as one of the largest employers in Jacksonville, with a long history of civic engagement, Prudential takes an active part in the local community, offering employees numerous opportunities to get involved and give back.

An important business hub of the South, Jacksonville enjoys a year-round temperate climate in which to enjoy the many nearby beaches and abundant outdoor activities. It’s also a short trip from historic regional destinations like Savannah, Georgia, and well-known attractions in Orlando, such as Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios.

Jacksonville is home to one major sports franchise and three minor league teams, and it offers a wide array of cultural activities, shopping, and nightlife. The educational system offers nearly 250 public and private schools and 14 regional colleges and universities, including the University of North Florida.
