About the position
Prudential’s Individual Solutions Group is on a journey to transform its technology landscape from traditional on-premise infrastructure to more advanced cutting-edge computing solutions in the cloud. The Cloud Engineer will specialize in developing cloud computing solutions for the organization.
This position is for a Cloud Engineer position. The job requires prior hands-on experience working with leading Public Cloud providers; Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The candidate should also have sound knowledge around the implementation of cloud container management and orchestration, an understanding of micro services development and implementation, familiarity with stateless and serverless computing, and comprehension around DevOps development environments. The main scope of this responsibility is working closely with our Enterprise support partners to enable Infrastructure cloud solutions through compute, storage, security, service, and containerization.
This position will have the opportunity to partner with multi-departmental leadership and other stakeholders to locate opportunities and to help implement the organizations cloud development strategy roadmap.
Drive organizational requirements that support diverse cloud hybrid solutions
Collaborate with the Enterprise to provide functional and technical design for cloud implementations
Work closely with DevOps development team building Infrastructure as Code solutions
Assist in the implementation of cloud container strategy for the organization
Develop tools to automate infrastructure tasks in Amazon AWS and Google GPC
Engineer creative solutions to modern business challenges with emphasis on automation, cloud computing, and continuous improvement
Act as the administrator of the organizations cloud accounts
Subject matter expert for cloud architecture and implementation features
Driven, self-motivated, able to work under pressure using sound judgment & professionalism
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Design and engineering experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent Public Cloud Providers
Strong automation experience with Python as well as familiarity with PowerShell or equivalent
Meaningful experience with cloud methodologies and toolsets including DevOps, and Continuous Integration
Implementation experience in container platform management and orchestration including Kubernetes, ECS, and Mesosphere
Extensive experience in cloud automation using Cloud Formation Templates
Experience in any of the following tool sets is preferred: Ansible, Apigee, Artifactory, GIT, Terraform, Jenkins, Mesosphere
Experience with the following AWS Services (or equivalent): EC2, ECS, S3, AWS CLI, Cloud Formation, IAM, Security Groups, KMS
Amazon AWS (or equivalent) Certificates a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
