Who We Look For:



In PGIM Fixed Income, we look for creative thought leaders, that will evolve and revolutionize our data strategy. At a macro level, our ideal candidate for this role will design and execute a data roadmap that is geared around placement and implementation of our investment and distribution data across enterprise data lakes, warehouses and data marts.   This person will define our new data architecture and optimize how data is accessed globally.   At a micro level, this role will be involved with overseeing database and table-level design, platform migrations and working with DBAs on best practice database tuning to optimize query and write performance. This will be a key role in our new technical initiative and will have direct access to our CTO. If this sounds interesting, then PGIM could be the place for you.



What You Will Do:



  • Conceptualize, design & implement enterprise databases to optimize our global search capabilities.
  • Drive transformation of legacy platforms to advanced distributed systems.
  • Design and build out new, scalable data lakes, data warehouses and data marts from scratch.


  • Create new approach to migrate data between various database platforms.
  • Align with development and DBA teams to create relational database/schema structures.
  • Influence leaders on long term strategy to optimize data environment


Qualifications


Skills You Will Need:


  • 10+ years of demonstrated technology experience implementing large scale data management and exchange projects with at least 7 years of experience as a Data Architect or deep involvement in Applications and Integrations Architecture.
  • 5+ years proven experience architecting solutions related to distributed applications, monolithic solutions, legacy databases (Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) complemented with large scale data management expertise in platforms like Pentaho and Hadoop.


  • Thorough understanding of investment management data needs to best service the requirements of our investment & distribution business requirements
  • Hands-on experience in designing & implementing scalable database platforms to deliver scalable, performant and highly available database solutions
  • Enterprise architecture experience in collaborating with peers to define and set technology standards globally in line with industry best-practice.
  • Expert-level SQL data query skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other Mathematical field of study.



We would love to see:



  • Detailed knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence reporting.
  • Data science and data analytics expertise; partnering with business units to use external, alternate and internal data sets to infer, test and prove investment and sales hypothesis.
  • Understanding of machine learning, predictive modeling and natural language processing.
