Actuarial - Moosic, PA | Newark, NJManager, Actuarial ( Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Funded Team)

About the position



Primary responsibilities include:


  • Manage and perform post-sale pricing related functions such as calculating premium true-ups, developing actuarial factor tables for inclusion in the Contract, handling amendment calculations, etc.

  • Collaborate with other PRT pricing associates as well as business and corporate partners to finalize sale and administrative documents during the post-sale process and resolve issues that arise.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled internal business team meetings during the post-sale onboarding phase.

  • Ensure a smooth transition of information to the Valuation and Reporting team necessary for ongoing reserving activities.

  • Provide support for ad hoc pricing or inforce management activities, including legacy inforce contract issues, as necessary.

  • Support internal efforts to secure necessary approvals both from Prudential Retirement’s leaders and other governing bodies across the Prudential Enterprise.

  • Implement efficient and robust onboarding processes and ensure compliance with Model Risk Policies and End User Controls.

  • Be an active participant in Prudential’s actuarial community




Qualifications

Requirements:

  • College Degree (BA / BS) required. Degree in Actuarial Science, mathematics, finance, computer science or other quantitative related fields is preferred.

  • 3-6 years of strong actuarial or Pension Risk Transfer experience is required.

  • Successful completion of actuarial exams preferred, but not required.

  • Superior technical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models.

  • Good communication skills, particularly in presenting results to senior executives.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple urgent priorities.

  • Creative problem-solver, particularly in areas with very little clarity or precedence.

  • Other risk/investment professional designations such as CFA, CERA, PRM, FRM or advanced degrees are not required but would be welcomed.

  • Highly motivated and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with high quality standards.

  • Fast learner and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.

  • Candidates working out of Newark should expect to work out of the Scranton, PA office 1-2 days per week as needed.
