Data Analytics - Newark (NJ), NJ Competitive Intelligence Analyst, QMA a PGIM company

About the position

PGIM QMA is a quantitative global asset manager with over $100 billion of assets under management and offices in Newark, San Francisco and London.

This Newark-based position will be supporting the Global Distribution team, which includes sales, client relationship management, marketing and consultant relations in an analyst role with high visibility to senior management.
You will be asked to collaborate with other departments across the firm. You will be tasked with standard reporting of competitive intelligence, performance, assets and internally generated data points.
A successful candidate is a fast learner and naturally loves dealing with data. You must be a team player who can multi-task effectively. You must perform at a high level under deadlines and competing demands.
There is potential for high profile responsibility and growth in the role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•Analyze and present competitive and market intelligence to senior leadership and key stakeholders, including but not limited to:
- Performance rankings
- Asset flow rankings

•Build reports by pulling data from internal SQL databases
•Build and maintain live dashboards with competitive intelligence and internal sales metrics
•Partner closely and effectively with Strategic Intelligence and Product Development teams
•Use analytical ability to quickly solve problems and find insights in datasets
•Deliver ad-hoc reports and assist with business cases to senior leadership
•Aid client-facing people in preparation for upcoming meetings and conferences
•Reconcile internal AUM ( Asset under Management) file and keep records of historical sales and client counts
•Assist with businesses at risk and upcoming inflow and outflow tracking
•Help with CRM quality assurance and build CRM-led marketing lists in Salesforce

Qualifications

Required Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree is required.

•Advanced Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to:
- Advanced formulas
- Experience working with tables
- Ability to build pivot tables and analyze slices of data
- Calculating aggregations and summaries of datasets
- Familiar with ranking functions
- Intermediate SQL ability


•Experience sharing information with an audience
•Desire to work with databases
•Experience dealing with time sensitive deliverables
•Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint


Preferred Skills:
•3-5 years of professional experience in an analytical role.
•Degree in a finance, technology, accounting, economics or any quantitative field.
•Business intelligence software experience (Tableau or Power BI)
•Microsoft Power Pivot or Power Query experience
•Salesforce experience
•eVestment and Morningstar experience
