About the position

Description:

QMA’s Product Development team oversees the development and enhancement of investment products and solutions for the institutional and retail marketplace. The Product Strategy Analyst will work proactively to develop competitive and business analysis in support of QMA’s Product Development function. The ideal candidate possesses a demonstrated understanding of financial markets and products, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Additionally, the candidate will have a solid understanding of the asset management business and investment products across multiple strategies (equity, multi asset class and alternative investments) and investment vehicles (i.e. ’40 Act funds, collective trusts, ETFs, UCITS, master-feeder structures, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Research and build comprehensive analysis and business cases for new strategies and/or new investment vehicles, with particular emphasis on competitive factors, market demand, strategic fit, pricing and profitability, operational and business complexity issues

  • Analyze, using multiple databases, the institutional and retail competitive marketplace to identify industry trends and for on-going and ad hoc reporting

  • Collaborate with the team to enhance the process for ongoing evaluation of QMA’s existing lineup of investment strategies and vehicles

  • Develop product presentations, proposals and recommendations

  • Work with cross functional teams including representatives from portfolio management, legal, compliance, operations, finance, sales and marketing to evaluate and execute on product initiatives for new and existing products

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry both retail and institutional.

  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities

  • Experience working with quantitative equity and multi-asset investment strategies preferred (not required)

  • BA/BS Degree; MBA or CFA preferred (not required)

  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Morningstar Direct and eVestment skills
