THE POSITION
We are looking to hire an experienced individual to assist with the implementation of quantitative equity strategies that cover US, global and international markets. This includes the development of robust applications to support the firm’s research and production requirements, as well as the maintenance of existing code to ensure the necessary level of quality throughout the codebase. We are committed to developing clean, intuitive and well-documented software using industry best practices and the individual in this position must share this philosophy. This position will support all aspect of the investment process covering research, signal generation, portfolio construction, order submission and post-trade analysis.    The individual will need to communicate effectively across a number of different groups to be successful.
In addition to the direct role in software development, we seek an individual that will champion software best practices across the group. The ideal individual should have extensive software development experience, preferably in the financial services industry.   Prior experience with python, investment algorithms, and large financial data sets is desirable.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Strong programming skills with a preference for hand-on python experience.
  • Prior experience developing software in financial services, with a preference for relevant-experience in an asset-management environment.
  • Prior experience with MS-SQL, C# or R is a desirable.
  • Experience with source control systems, unit and integration testing.
  • Hands-on experience developing large, complex programming projects.
  • Solid understanding of current best practices in the software industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail is required
