Accounting/Finance - Newark, NJ Investment Operations Specialist - PGIM Operations

About the position

The Investment Operations Specialist will be part of a team of six associates within the Real Estate Accounting unit of the Derivatives and Real Estate Accounting & Investment Reporting area. Real Estate Accounting is responsible for the Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting of Prudential’s General Account real estate investments of Prudential Insurance Company of America, Pruco Life, Prudential Retirement Insurance & Annuity Co, Prudential Annuities Life Assurance Corp, Prudential Legacy Insurance Company of New Jersey, Pruco Reinsurance, Universal Pru Arizona Reinsurance Co, Pru Arizona Reinsurance Captive Co and other domestic insurance and captive reinsurance subsidiaries.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring that GAAP, statutory, cash and other Enterprise reporting requirements are met
  • Assisting in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial closes for the General Account and its affiliates
  • Preparation of quarterly GAAP supplemental schedules
  • Preparing and reviewing timely and accurate monthly and quarterly data submission to various parties
  • Interacting with PGIM Real Estate Asset Managers in on-going operational matters
  • Participate in the interactions with PGIM Real Estate and ALM Finance groups in implementing new accounting policies
  • Assisting in the various audits with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with client requests on an ad-hoc basis
  • Assist in special projects related to systems implementation
  • Assist in managing and completing multiple processes with tight deadlines while responding to various requests from many parties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 2-5 years of accounting and/or operations experience required
  • Audit interaction and experience preferred
  • Knowledge of MRI General Ledger system preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger system preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting preferred
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong leadership skills preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated, team player and detail oriented
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Other: Overtime may be required during peak periods.
