Asset Management - Newark, NJ Senior Financial Writer, PGIM Fixed Income

About the position

We are looking for a Senior Financial Writer with extensive experience in asset management, a strong working knowledge of fixed income is required. A natural talent and ability to write clear, concise communication, to interact with investment professionals, and to be able to work on thought leadership materials involving technical fixed income themes and topics is also required. The position reports to the Global Head of Marketing for PGIM Fixed Income, and is an individual contributor role, currently with no management oversight of other team members. This position interacts directly with investment management, sales, client service and other groups across the business and globally.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include the development of clear, concise content and communication in support of all sales, client service and investment efforts.
  • Deliveries include the writing and editing of investment commentaries, thought leadership materials, topical white papers, sponsored commentaries, quarterly outlooks and customized RFP responses and marketing materials.
  • Development of targeted marketing initiatives that will further the PGIM Fixed Income brand globally.
  • Participation in website builds and other larger initiatives within scope of the Fixed Income marketing team.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for a candidate with in depth knowledge of fixed income markets, investment strategies, and economics with 10+ years of direct experience in asset management involving investment/financial writing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with investment managers and sales professionals in an asset management organization.
  • Ability to take technical opinions and concepts and develop clear, concise communication to a broad constituency.  
  • Strong market knowledge, extensive practical and industry knowledge, and the ability to integrate critical information from diverse areas.
  • The capacity to fully comprehend the investment organization's products, processes, and service needs and to respond to them.
  • Strong critical thinking and a solid understanding of asset management.
  • Previous experience working with senior management and investment professionals.
  • Highly responsive, a team player with a collaborative style.
  • B.A or B.S. degree in a business-related discipline, MBA or CFA highly desirable.
  • A solid business writer and communicator, ability to write clear, concise marketing and promotional materials in an expedient manner.
  • Strong critical thinking and a solid understanding of asset management.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Highly responsive, a senior team player with a collaborative style.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, word, excel, Microsoft Office suite.
  • Highly organized, a strong project manager with the ability to execute on initiatives with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, a solutions-driven mindset.
