About the position

Prudential Financial is seeking a strategic Chief of Staff to support the Prudential Workplace Solutions Group (WSG) Chief Marketing Officer. Workplace Solutions Group comprises Prudential’s Retirement and Group Insurance businesses – providing financial wellness through a myriad retirement, life, disability, and voluntary products to more than 23 million customers. The successful candidate will participate in and advance a wide array of business initiatives, as well as ensure the seamless functioning of the Marketing organization. The candidate must be able to form trusting relationships with senior executives, influence across Prudential’s various businesses, and work and operate in a fast-paced business environment. This role is designed as an accelerated development opportunity and, as such, will be a 24- to 36-month rotational assignment.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. The role may be in Hartford, Connecticut or Newark, New Jersey, though NJ is preferred.
  • Leading and coordinating a wide range of activities at the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer
  • Engaging in key initiatives and projects to ensure excellent execution and outcomes in a seamless, effective, and timely manner (examples include expense management, vendor management initiatives)
  • Developing and coordinating the executive and offsite meeting agendas in alignment with the Marketing area’s priorities
  • Partnering with the Marketing Management team and the CMO to develop a calendar and cadence of regular management routines
  • Ensuring effective problem-solving, collaboration, and communication between the Marketing executive team
  • Providing a strong link between the WSG Marketing area executive office and other departments within Prudential’s multiple businesses (particularly with the Individual Solutions Group, Customer Office, and Enabling Solutions), and between the WSG Marketing area and external parties, to ensure that information, meetings and engagements align with the business priorities
  • Managing and driving special projects
  • Acting as a key interface and partner to the Communications group regarding planning, supporting, and coordinating internal and external communications needs
  • Creating, supporting and / or coordinating communications, including presentations for the Chief Marketing Officer
  • Responding, when needed, on behalf of the Chief Marketing Officer


  • Minimum of five years of business experience at a minimum of a Manager level (or equivalent), preferably at a Director level and in the financial services field or from within a Marketing discipline
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with all levels of a large organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant experience presenting in small and large group (100+) settings
  • Impeccable organization and time management skills
  • Ability to flex work schedule with peak period demands
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 20%), primarily to other WSG offices (Roseland, NJ; Dresher, PA; Scottsdale, AZ; Portland, ME; Hartford, CT; Woodbridge, NJ; Dubuque, IA; Scranton, PA)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior-level employees
