Human Resources - Newark, NJ Director, Internal Communications

About the position

Prudential Financial is seeking a strong communications professional to serve as Director, Internal Communications for its Law, Compliance, Business Ethics & External Affairs Department.

The candidate will be responsible for strategic Executive communications for a global department. S/he will be responsible for messaging, communications plans, and timelines for events, as examples. Strategies that help increase employee engagement across the Department will be central to the candidate’s primary responsibility; will be required to define voice for various audiences as well leverage new and different storytelling approaches (i.e. digital, video, etc) that influence outcomes and demonstrate value.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are required. S/he will be responsible for proactively manage relationships with senior executives and influence others with or without direct authority. Event management is required, as well as project management experience related to events as well as activities and messaging related to editorial and communications calendars.

Qualifications

  • People management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as in-house senior communications leader or similar professional experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree a plus
  • Proven track record as a strong strategic communications leader with the ability to “connect the dots” across the business, drive organizational change, ensure employee engagement and manage cross-functional projects
  • Expertise in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Clear, concise and engaging verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Successful track record in leading event planning for large organizations
  • Technical requirements: MS Office Suite including demonstrated proficiency in SharePoint; familiarity with Adobe Suite including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc.
