As the Manager, Sales Training, you will provide a full range of training delivery and facilitation to the Individual Life Insurance Sales & Distribution organization. As a key member of our organization, you will combine your strong project management and organization skills along with your life insurance expertise and industry knowledge to partner in the development and delivery of training for our audiences. Your strong training, delivery, and communication skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks to fully support the training strategy to ensure successful implementation is a plus. This position is located in our Plymouth, MN office.

The specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for planning and delivering training and career development programs primarily focused on Individual Life Sales and Distribution. This includes facilitating and instructing using various delivery vehicles: instructor led classroom, web-led instruction, teleconference, videoconference, on-the-job, meetings, workshops and via various mobile learning strategies.

  • Consult with various levels of management and business clients to assess and prioritize learning needs.

  • Work with Sales & Distribution and management to ensure that training programs support departmental objectives and requirements.

  • Collaborate with instructional design staff to create the specific programs necessary.

  • Partner with other areas of the organization such as Marketing, Product Management, Investment Management, Advanced Planning, etc. to ensure consistency of message.

  • Provide input from needs analysis and delivery experiences, focusing on continuous improvement to all programs.

  • Effectively combine instructional design methodology and adult learning principles to implement learning programs that maximize employee development and job performance.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement to course content, course delivery, or facilitation.

  • Facilitate and deliver value add training programs to third party partners in conjunction with Strategic Relationship Management and the Field.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7+ years of Life Insurance experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required

  • Prior Sales Training experience is a plus

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to communicate and execute clear, consistent and applicable learning experiences aligned to organizational goals

  • Strong project management skills

  • Attention to detail and follow-through critical

  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, writing and editing skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence laterally and vertically

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers to deliver business results

  • Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/cases simultaneously and juggle multiple (and potentially conflicting) priorities

  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite and standard office tools

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM system a plus

  • 15 to 20% travel required

  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 required or must be obtained within 180 days of hire
