About the position

Prudential’s Workplace Solutions Group (WSG), which comprises Prudential’s Retirement and Group Insurance (GI) businesses, and serving over 23 million customers, has an opening for a Data Analytics Manager supporting several growth initiatives within WSG’s internal consulting practice. This is an exciting opportunity to help support a newly formed group that will propel WSG to achieve several critical strategic initiatives.

The Data Analytics Manager is responsible for using data and analytics to inform our growth strategies and execution. This role requires expertise in navigating and deeply analyzing various sources of data to prioritize target segments and methods of deeply engaging with our existing and potential customers. The ideal candidate also has strong project management skills and possesses strong general business skills and intellectual curiosity.

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:

Implement tools and strategies to transform data into decisions and actions
Understand and view data through a strategic lens while being proficient with data visualization and analytics tools
Report findings and analysis to partners and leaders who are creating and executing strategies to achieve rapid growth in targeted customer segments and distribution channels
Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders
Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary, and internal data sources
Model large unstructured data sources (e.g. financial transactional, time-series, text, speech/audio, and image


  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial, Data Science, or comparable quantitative disciplines
  • Familiarity with customer segmentation models and customer analytics
  • Experience with using analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience using tools such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, SPSS or equivalent for statistical modeling of large data sets
  • Experience with statistical modeling; experience in developing predictive analytics models is a plus
  • Proven expertise in delivering insights and data driven recommendations to influence and drive key business outcomes
  • Model core characteristics of positive attitude, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Software engineering experience in C/C++/C#/Java/Scala or similar object oriented or functional languages is highly regarded but not a prerequisite
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Successful track record of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to partner positively with a wide variety of partners
  • Prior exposure to financial services or insurance industry may be helpful but is not a prerequisite
