The individual will be an integral part of the GAAP/AOI (Adjusted Operating Income) Valuation team within the Individual Annuity Valuation area, which is responsible for reporting and analyzing the risks of the Annuities business. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include performing attribution and sensitivity analysis for GAAP and AOI actuarial balances and clearly explaining results as well as being a key contributor in high visibility projects. This position also involves problem solving and coming up with solutions for ad-hoc requests. It is a very dynamic team and its functions are critical to the success of individual annuities business.

The individual’s responsibilities may include:

·         Key contributor in the monthly/quarterly/annual Annuities GAAP/AOI reporting and analysis

·         Present results to Annuities senior leaders

·         Work closely with Annuities Finance and Corporate Actuarial for all GAAP/AOI related deliverables

·         Work closely with Actuarial Modeling team and IT area to ensure timely model production runs are performed

·         Key contributor in the model conversion process (home grown system to GGY Axis) as well as help implement Day2 items in GGY Axis

·         Address requests from various corporate functions – Internal Audit, Risk Management, Treasurer, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets Hedging, etc.

·         Support pricing/development of new products

·         Enhancing analytical tools and processes

·         Ad hoc research and development

Qualifications

·         Must have ASA or be near an ASA designation

·         Must have at least 4 years of experience in the life insurance industry

·         Must have some experience in annuities

·         Must be well organized

·         Ability to co-lead multiple projects and resolve conflicting priorities

·         Ability to communicate actuarial results to senior management

·         Bachelor degree or higher

·         Programming Experience in any computer languages is preferred (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, etc.)
