About the position
At the center of our Human Resources organization are HR Business Partners (HRBPs) who act as strategic advisors to specific client groups in the businesses and corporate centers.
The Director, Human Resources Business Partner advises and coaches managers to drive workforce performance, providing front line support in the areas of talent, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and change management. In this critical role supporting the Finance organization, you will deliver HR strategy, initiatives and programs.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Provide human resources support for managers across multiple areas. Provide education, advice and counsel on HR related disciplines, including, but not limited to, staffing, organizational development, talent management, performance management and various talent issues (e.g., multi-generational workforce) which help to achieve key business goals.
Coach and develop managers to expand their people management capabilities and practices.
Partner with managers on executing all cyclical processes. Drive the annual compensation process, analyzing recommendations, reviewing market survey data and advising on appropriate packages to attract and retain employees. Drive the performance management process by equipping line management with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage employee performance and to communicate the highest standards. Coordinate employee engagement survey by analyzing and presenting results to managers and employees to address issues.
Serve as a trusted advisor.
Partner with the Centers of Expertise to acquire, train and develop diverse and high performing talent to drive current and future business objectives.
Collaborate with other Corporate Centers HR Generalists on special projects and cross functional initiatives.
Facilitate local HR communications and reporting.
Provide feedback on HR policies, processes and programs to HR Business Partners and Centers of Expertise.
- Bachelor degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant human resources experience.
- Experience supporting a finance function and/or investment organization, a plus.
- Sound knowledge and experience across the full spectrum of HR disciplines (benefits, on-boarding, performance management, organizational design, etc.).
- Excellent business acumen.
- Ability to build strong relationships and become a business ally. Strong track record of credibility built on trust.
- Demonstrated experience in being an ambassador of change in a complex and results-driven organization; ability to be influential, innovative, nimble, proactive and collaborative.
- Proven resiliency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and concise communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrate the highest levels of ethics, values and integrity.
- Ability to travel to Hartford, CT and other locations in NJ when needed.
