About the position

The Global Communications team directs internal employee and external communications efforts to ensure the company's messages are aligned and delivered in accordance with Prudential’s goals and policies.  To best partner with Prudential’s corporate functions, we are expanding our Global Corporate Communications team and looking for professionals to help shape how external audiences understand and perceive our enterprise-wide story, financial strength and operating performance, public policy positions and overall differentiation in the marketplace.

Reporting to a Director, Global Communications, the Associate Manager is responsible for contributing to the strategic planning and tactical execution of enterprise-wide, multi-channel communications campaigns.  In this capacity, the Associate Manager will work with a variety of subject matter experts and corporate function partners to advance communications programs that reinforce and build Prudential’s corporate reputation.  The Associate Manager will also partner with colleagues across Prudential’s Brand, Marketing, Advertising & Communications organization to manage, execute and measure multi-channel media campaigns that help to accomplish overall company goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and update communications materials including but not limited to, annual communication plans, company rankings and awards, executive visibility calendars, issues tracking documents, competitor benchmarking, media research and analysis presentations.
  • Create written, audio and video content that can be leveraged across Prudential’s internal communication properties and external channels.
  • Build reporter relationships and execute media relations campaigns, including reporter introductions, pitch creation and outreach, interview preparation and coverage analysis, monitoring and reporting.
  • Partner with colleagues within Corporate Centers (e.g., Finance, Chief Investment Officer, Human Resources, Governance, Law, Government Affairs) to support large scale events, such as leadership meetings, town halls and external partnerships.
  • Serve as corporate point person, liaising with Brand, Advertising, Marketing and Business Unit Communications colleagues on internal and external initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in complementary or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum 4 years professional communications experience; public relations agency experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated project management experience, successfully managing multiple projects at once
  • Strong media relations, executive visibility, events and social media acumen
  • Self-starter with a client-centric mindset and ability to work in matrixed environment
  • Clear and concise communications skills
  • Executive presence; frequent in-person interaction with business leaders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
