Human Resources - Newark, NJ Learning & Development Associate

About the position

Prudential has a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in talent development. As a Learning & Development Associate, you will support the Finance Learning & Development team on training and development programs and initiatives for the Finance Community. The functions of this team are important to how we attract, develop, and retain high caliber talent across Finance.

To succeed in this role, you will be detail-oriented, highly organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, you need to be dependable, collaborative, demonstrate initiative and be motivated to succeed.
In this role you will:
  • Assist with development of new training and development programs
  • Procure external vendor training and coordinate internal training with Subject Matter Experts
  • Learning Connection Admin support (e.g., running reports, rosters, etc.)
  • Support the planning and execution of conferences such as the annual Finance Learning Exchange
  • Prepare materials and assist with logistics for all training sessions
  • Create survey summary reports from online evaluations to assess and report on measures of success to ensure effectiveness of programs
  • Update presentations, create PowerPoint presentations and memos
  • Provide training updates for the CFO Communications team and maintain intranet site content
  • Maintain training metrics report creation and distribution
  • Schedule and prepare for cross functional team meetings/events, training sessions, conference calls and catering as requested
  • Handle telephone and/or written contact with external and internal associates both at the staff and executive level
  • Partner with the various Finance Community contacts to carry out initiatives
  • Understand the calendar of deliverables and be proactive in planning for and supporting tasks
  • Attend and prepare minutes for cross functional Training & Development team meetings

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Corporate internship experience in human resources, learning & development, or other related field a plus
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Keen Relationship-building and coordination skills
  • A positive attitude and energetic personality are essential
  • Proficiency at Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Learning Connection, a plus
  • Flexibility to work overtime/early arrivals on an as needed basis is required
