About the position

Prudential Financial is seeking a Group Operations Officer (GOO), responsible for an enterprise Portfolio Management function and Operational Excellence. This is an exciting, broad reaching role that supports cross business unit initiatives related to US business segments and the customer office. The role demands a strategic leader who has driven large initiatives in the past focused on large scale, strategic operational efficiencies, talent evolution and sourcing for a Fortune 100 company.
The candidate must be able to form trusting relationships with senior executives, collaborate and influence across Prudential’s various businesses, and work and operate in a fast-paced business environment.
The successful candidate will be based in Newark.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive an integrated portfolio management process that enables clear transparency and governance of a diverse range of cross business unit strategic opportunities.
  • Provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to drive strategic efficiencies that will resonate across all lines of business.
  • Partner with fellow GOO’s within the US Business model to align on priorities and approach.
  • Lead and monitor the organization’s productivity, efficiency, and impact.
  • Establish and execute policies that promote the organization’s culture and vision.
  • Provide timely, accurate and analyzed reports on the cross-business unit strategic opportunities.
  • Monitor the organization’s performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization.
  • Drive financial planning including budget process and the organization’s monthly financials.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and principles and oversee their usage and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of large scale leadership experience preferably in the financial services field. Prior experience as a COO and/or portfolio management would be a major asset
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with all levels of a large organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have prior experience contributing and thriving in a multi-cultural environment
  • Significant experience presenting in small and large group (100+) settings
  • Ability to travel (approximately 15-20%), across all key Prudential sites as required
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and implement change
  • Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking skills and track record in meaningful execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
