About the position

The Capital Markets team of PGIM Private Capital is seeking an Analyst for its three-year analyst program. The position is located in Newark, NJ.

Analysts have the opportunity to develop analytical skills, business perspective, and an understanding of the industries relevant to the assignment. The Analysts partner with investment teams to assist them in making informed asset pricing decisions against market comps, evaluating the costs of investment structures, locking coupons, and allocating investments to clients.

The Analyst position offers college graduates the chance to build their analytical skills and expand their knowledge of private capital investments and the broader capital markets in the three-year Analyst program. In this position, Analysts support PGIM Private Capital in pricing, purchasing and managing private placement senior and mezzanine debt. PGIM Private Capital’s issuers range from large multi-national public companies to smaller privately held companies.

Working on the Credit and Capital Markets team Analysts research market and industry asset pricing levels; participate in setting rates for new and secondary purchases; maintain and construct pricing models; interface with regional investment teams daily to assist with asset pricing and structuring; collect and share market data; maintain databases of market data; prepare management reports; manage execution of currency swaps; manage projects, especially systems enhancements; and keep teams informed of changing market conditions.

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Finance, economics, or other quantitative subjects
  • 1-2 years of financial services debt capital markets experience
  • Excellent data analytics and business intelligence skills
  • Knowledge of fixed income valuation methodologies
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) program
